Gardens' Gardner

It is very apt that the Bridgwater College Grounds Manager is called Andre Gardner, a role which includes working within the Walled Gardens. Andre has been in this role for over eight years, and brings much drive and enthusiasm, experience and dedication.

Andre, who is married and has three children, began his working life with the Parachute Regiment. He then went on to study botany and horticulture, which included completing a botanical study tour in Mexico. He has also taken professional training such as chainsaw and arboriculture operations, and use of pesticides.

Andre's previous horticultural employment has included working as a landscape technician, head gardener at Paignton Zoo and Botanical Gardens, and head gardener at Hever Castle - so he has an enormous amount of experience. His knowledge of the Walled Gardens is second to none, and if you take a tour of the Gardens with him, you'll be sure to learn a great deal!
